Valentines Day Outfits.

Hello Beautifuls! Valentine’s Day is 6 days away, I know romance shouldn’t only be one day but, it’s nice to have a reason to get dolled up and go out. So, today I’m giving y’all some ideas on outfits you can wear for this special romantic day. I will probably be celebrating Cupid’s day with my amazing husband before or after the day. Places will be extremely busy this day and being as we are in a foreign country and we aren’t very adventurous with food, I’m pretty sure the places we like will be packed. So, let’s get into some of these outfit that if you check my last post on makeup looks you will see which makeup look goes with the outfit.

This outfit is for a more chill and relaxed date. Probably the outfit that I will be wearing since I have to be running after a toddler, who has the quickest little feet ever! Even though, you gotta be able to chase a toddler doesn’t mean you can’t get all cute and dolled up. Here I’m wearing my favorite pair of jeans I bought at the MCX and my favorite bodysuit, also from the MCX. It’s a little chilly here in Japan. So, I topped it off with this pure cardigan from Forever 21 and my grey Ugg’s. Warm and cute.

Next outfit is probably one of my faves. Sweater and skirt are from H&M and can still be found online, btw. The knee high boots are from Target. This is super girly and still quite warm and somewhat comfortable to be able to be able to chase a toddler. This is a very Blair Waldorf inspired look and I’m here for it.

The last look is very sexy and boobalicious. This is absolutely not a toddler chasing approved outfit. But, dang I was feeling myself in this outfit. You can’t go wrong with a little black dress. The dress is from Kenneth Cole and the Cardigan is from a store here in Japan called GU. Completed the look with some heels I got from target and some pearls. So here is my glam bam sexy look.

So, there are my three Valentines Day outfit ideas. Which one was your favorite?

Valentine’s Day Makeup Looks.

Hello beautifuls! How are y’all beauties doing? To be honest, I’m not doing so hot right now. Why, you may ask? Well, it all started with my toddler having a little bit of the sniffles and a runny nose. Lucky for him, it only last two days…. but the sniffles came on over to me and is kicking my butt. I have an annoying cough that makes my head hurt and along with that amazing feeling is a sore throat and basically no voice. It’s fun stuff when you’re trying to tell your toddler not to do something and no matter how hard you try to raise your voice, you still sound like a mouse. But, I’m not coming on here today to talk about my weak sauce of an immune system. No, today I want to share some makeup looks that range from chill to glam bam take me out on the town I’m feeling myself looks. Even though, I feel like absolute poop and not really in the take me out on the town feeling myself mood, makeup can always get my spirits up and it can help me hide my sickness. Let me tell ya, the power of makeup Issa strong! Haha. So if you like make up and want a little inspo for your hot Valentine’s Day date, hopefully, I can help ya out a bit. Btw, I’m not a makeup guru by any means, so if I can do it, you can too.

I’ll start off with all the products that I used to achieve these looks. They are mostly high end products, but you do not need these exact items to achieve these looks. Nowadays there are some amazing dupes for beauty products. Now let’s get onto the good stuff.

Moisturizer: Clinique Moisture Surge. I usually use the Tatcha Water Cream but, this Clinique moisturizer has my face feel hydrated and soft. I would recommend giving this a try if you have somewhat of dry to combination skin like I do.

Primer: Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer. This has been my ride or die primer. I love it. It makes my skin smooth and let’s my foundation go on flawless. I haven’t used another primer since.

Foundation: NARS. Oh My Gosh. This foundation is amaze balls! My new favorite foundation. I just don’t know where to start, like it’s not cakey, a lot goes a long way, full coverage, oh I can just go on and on. It’s just amazing.

Concealer: No Surprise here, it’s the tarte shape tape. Haha

Contour: NYX Wonder Stick. Now I usually don’t contour every time I do my makeup, cause I ain’t got the time. I just put some bronzer and go. But, for special days when I want to look snatched I use the Nyx contour stick.

Setting Powder: Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder.

Bronzer: Chanel Bronzer

Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Blush.

Highlight: Charlotte Tilbury Gold Bar Highlighter. My absolute favorite part of my makeup routine.

Eyeshadow: Huda Beauty and the Morphe Jaclyn Hill pallet. Used the huda pallet for the first two makeup looks and the Jaclyn pallet for the last look.

Lipsticks: Chanel lipstick, Anastasia Beverly Hill liquid lipstick, and L’Oréal liquid lipstick.

Mascara: Chanel.

And finally setting spray:NYX Dewy Finish.

The first look is a more natural look with a nude lip.

Second look is similar but with more glitter and darker colors and a satin finish lipstick. This is pretty much. My go to look. What can I say I love my pinks!

And finally the glam bam look. This is more of night out look but, who am I to tell you when to wear a bold look. Heck I’ll go pick up some coffee in sweat pants with this look. Haha. This is the I actually had time to put on some red lipstick and not look like clown look. Just kidding. What can I say about this look… well it’s a Smokey eye with a bold red lip! And I love this look, it’s definitely out of my basic pink eye and nude lip look but, it’s a look. Haha

Well these are my three Valentine’s Day looks I have for y’all. I hope y’all enjoy. I will be posting valentines days outfits in the next couple days. So keep an eye out for that!

Goals Update.

Hello Beautifuls! Hope y’all are having a great New Year so far and are crushing y’alls goals! This girl right here is on a roll! Some goals have been achieved, some are in progress, and some are going to start on fresh start February. Haha. If you go back to my last post, you’ll see all of the goals I’ve set up for myself this year.

The first goal that I’m absolutely proud of is the start of potty training my sweet baby boy… well, I guess he’s not a baby anymore. Queue the sad violin and ugly crying. Today, marked a whole week of potty training! He’s is doing so good, we have way more successful trips to the potty and very little accidents, only two a day to be exact. I had a few tricks to help this go as smoothly as possible. I made him a potty chart and I help him draw a star for every good potty break, I bribed him with candy stickers, gave him a lot of juice, and finally I would let him watch his favorite movie or cartoons. Let me tell y’all it’s has been going ALOT better than I thought it would’ve been. Even though, it’s all going smooth, it has to be the most exhausting thing I’ve ever done. We aren’t fully trained yet but, so far so good and that makes me one happy and proud mommy.

The next goal that I have started and I’m pretty obsessed with is my cleaning schedule and meal planner. This is a new goal and it’s all thanks to my bestie Sarah and the new series on Netflix tidying up with Marie Kondo. Now, I didn’t go quite drastic on my cleaning like on the show but, it sure did put a pep in my step to get my life together. I did get rid a lot of our clothes and got rid of things I no longer used or wanted and to my surprise my hubby was on board with this new way of living. The schedule has really been a life changer, I always felt like I was cleaning and nothing seemed to stay cleaned and it really discouraged me and just pissed me off. But, now it’s so much easier to keep up with everything and not feel overwhelmed. I highly recommend doing one if you’re feeling helpless.

The third to last goal I made was to read more books. To be completely honest, I’m not a big reader, I just want to lead my toddler by example to read more books. He already likes for me to read to him but, I want him to love it and hopefully he will be able to read himself soon. Also, I want to work on myself and not just Netflix and chill all the time.

My last goal is on the materialistic side. Thanks to my adorable baby brothers, who aren’t such babies anymore, they gave me the LV Confidental bracelet. I’m obsessed, it’s so simple but, yet so pretty.

So that’s all of the goals that I’ve achieved so far and it’s only January. I told myself that this is the year I accomplish all the goals I’ve set out for myself and so far I’m kicking this years butt.

Also, don’t get discouraged if you haven’t met the goals just yet, something is always going to try and get in your way. Just start them whenever, don’t wait til next year to start something. You can start next month, week or even the next day. It is up to you to take control of your life and make the changes you want.

What are some of the goals you set for this year?

Favorite Summer Outfits.

Hello beautifuls! It’s hump day y’all, another week is almost gone and in just a few days the month will be gone. Speaking about months flying by, my favorite season, fall is almost upon us. For some people fall starts September 23rd, but for me it start August 31st. I like having my home decorated the first day of September.

Since, the summer is coming to an end for me, I just wanted to share some of my favorite summer outfits. I was very fortunate to have been in the sunshine state for most of my summer. For some reason I get inspired to step up my style when I’m in Florida, it can be the beautiful style the people have there and the people places that inspire me.

My first outfit is a romper/dress from American Eagle. It’s such a cute and summery piece. Not many rompers look cute, but this totally takes the cake. On top of it being super cute, it’s totally practical for being a mom chasing after a toddler.

Now, this outfit makes me really happy. I mean how can I not be happy when I’m wearing rose gold Minnie Mouse ears. My shirt is from a Japanese store called uniqlo, which is now in the states and it made me smile to see a similar store and the shorts are from aerie. Paired my cute ears and outfit with some Jack Rogers sandals.

On to my chilling on the hammock outfit. Besides the cardigan and the jacks, this outfit came from the MCX, the store on base. This outfit was comfortable and chic. I had to be comfortable for a little shopping spree I had with my best friend and at the same time not die of a heat stroke.

This is a little more of a risky outfit but I love it. The outfit is from aerie, when I was trying these pieces on at the store I thought it would look ugly, but I felt great and felt confident.

The white dress with flowers and the mustard polka dot dress are both from my favorite store, Target! I’m excited to transition the polka dot dress into fall and pair it with some booties.

The last dress I bought for less than a dollar, how you may ask? Well, I found this gem at the thrift store I work at. This was brand new with tags and it was a piece I couldn’t pass up. It’s not something I would have ever thought of wearing but, I’m trying to step up my wardrobe and this screamed summer.

I hope you all liked my outfits, which one is y’alls favorite?

Got Ink?

Hello beautifuls! I hope y’all have a great Monday and start y’alls week of right. Today’s post I’ll be talking about a little something I did when I was back home stateside. What is that little something I did, you may ask? Well… after a lot of thinking and backing out for years, I finally got my first tattoo! To some people this isn’t a big deal, but for me it was a really big deal. I have been wanting a tattoo for years, there was actually a night when we lived in North Carolina I walked into a place and I was ready to get one. Unfortunately, the one I wanted and where I wanted it was something that I would have to touch up often and I wasn’t about that life. But, I kept thinking of what I would want to get and finding the balls to get one, I really wanted to get something meaningful and very important to me.

I still can’t believe I actually got one, I finally got the nerve and did it. This tattoo has so much meaning to me, it makes me smile every time I look at it. One of the reasons it so special to me is because my baby brother and I were going to get our first tattoos done together and he was sweet enough to pay for mine. It was my Mother’s Day gift from him, I swear I have the sweetest brothers, three to be exact. The second reason is I got something that meant a lot to me, which is the date my baby boy was born. He was an absolute blessing itself.

At the age of 18, I was told by doctors I couldn’t get pregnant due to this syndrome known as PCOS ( Polycystic ovary syndrome). I was always irregular when it came to my period and my body didn’t release eggs. So, I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant. I was told this is a common issue among young women. But, that didn’t matter to me, I couldn’t believe at a young age I was told I couldn’t be a mother. That news broke my heart and I cried to my parents, and told them you guys will never have a grandchild from me. They hugged me and said “Do not listen to these doctors, if it is in Gods will for you to be a mother, you will be a mother”. I always kept that in my mind, but I didn’t stay optimistic about it. When I got married I told my husband that there was a possibility I would never be able to give him a child. Well, like my parents said God had other plans. A year into being married I got pregnant, I still couldn’t believe it! I took so many tests before and they all came out negative, I just gave up. I was so surprised that it was positive that I wasn’t even sure how to read it. I had to ask my sister in law what does two lines mean. Haha. It was a great day.

My first tattoo owns a special place in my heart and it is something that will always make me smile when I look at it. Thanks to my baby brother who pushed me and was right there to hold my hand when I got it. I’m already thinking about what I want my second tattoo to be.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed today’s post.

Sassy Sister’s

Hello Beautifuls! It has been a hot minute since I have posted. What can I say? Life got to me. Between being a mommy, wife, student, and an employee, it has been quiet the ride. Now, I have always done school and worked full-time, but I didn’t have a toddler running around making leaving the house on time impossible or when you’re in the middle of writing an essay and he wants some a loving from mommy, making me lose my train of thought. But, I’m getting through it and I’m on my last week of school and I can’t wait. I will be taking a little time off, because I don’t want this stress while visiting my family in Florida.

But, enough of my struggles let’s get into this special post. This is my second feature on my blog, if you would like to check out my last feature go ahead click on the link Double The Cuteness. It is about my cousin and her life with twin boys. This time I got the privilege to interview these three amazing, sassy, and fashionista sisters, The Nettes Make sure you all check out their blog, its amazing, if you’re a shopaholic, you’ll love their blog for sure!

img_7027-1

These three awesome sisters names are Raenette, Antionette, and Anjanette. I just love their names, they are basically the southern version of the Kardashians. Haha! I’m very happy they took out some time out of their busy schedules and shopping trips to answer a few questions I had.

Q1: When did y’all start blogging?

A: I guess by now you know we started our blog in November but didn’t shout it to the world until December.

Q2: Why did y’all decide to start your blog?

Raenette: The blog was really my sister Antoinette’s idea. She was always looking at different blogs & she said, “hey, we can do as good as these chicks” and here we are! Lol! Plus, most blogs are geared towards younger folks & we wanted to show folks that you can look stylish no matter the age.

Antionette: We started the Blog because we thought it would be a fun way to share our love of fashion and shopping with others. We have always loved putting outfits together, so we figured maybe we could make a go of it. We also wanted to show 50+ women that they can still look hot and stylish and not spend a fortune.

Anjanette: Started it bc we wanted to share our love of fashion with others. And to let everyone know that it’s not hard or really that time-consuming to look pulled together.

Q3: What is it about fashion that y’all like?

Raenette: I like fashion because it lets me express myself in many different ways. I can’t draw or paint or sew or play an instrument so, fashion is my artistic outlet. What you may be hiding on the inside, you can express through clothes & accessories.

Antionette: I love the way an outfit can express how you’re feeling on any given day. An outfit can show the world “Hey, I’m feeling super sexy today”. Or “Hey, I’m feeling Casual today”. I definitely use fashion to express myself.

Anjanette: What I like about fashion is that it is a creative outlet. It’s a way to stand out and make a statement.

Q4: Who is the inspiration for your style:

Raenette: My mama was my #1 fashion inspiration. When I was younger I used to get a lot of inspiration from magazines & tv. Now, I most of my inspiration comes from friends & family & the general public.

Antionette: My main fashion inspiration will always be my Mama. I too love and admire Victoria Beckham. She’s so classic and badass at the same time. I have always loved Audrey Hepburn as well.

Anjanette: Fashion inspiration of course was Mama and I love Victoria Beckham. Classic.

Q5: Who is the more stylish sister?

Raenette: Anjanette is the biggest risk taker for sure. We’re all fashionable in our own way. I guess it’s in the eye of the beholder.

Antionette: Anjanette is definitely the most daring when it comes to fashion. We are all fashion divas! Lol

Anjanette: And we ALL know which sister is the most stylish!! ME!!! Lol

I’m so happy I got to interview these ladies, they sure are a hoot and most importantly extremely inspirational! They are amazing in every way and are kicking ass in fashion and in life. They are an example that there is no limit in what you can do no matter what size, age, or color! They make me wish I had sisters to go on shopping adventures and steal each others clothes. They are sister goals! Thank you dolls for being a guest on my blog! Make sure you follow their blog Nothing But Nette.

Confidence, fashion, Love, Makeup, Shopping, Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day Outfits.

Hello Beautifuls! Today I’m coming at you with some cute outfit ideas, from casual and comfy to girly and dressy. With Valentines Day around the corner I was inspired to come up with a few outfits. One of my goals for this year was to revamp my wardrobe and add some pink into my closet (my favorite color). These are all new pieces, so it is kind of like a haul too. My style goes by my mood, sometimes I feel like being very girly and fancy, and sometimes I feel like being comfy, but still look cute and girly. I had so much fun putting these pieces together and I love how each outfit came out. I hope y’all like them and get some ideas for your Valentines Day outfit too.

Outfit # 1 is a casual look. I bought this flowy blush pink shirt from Old Navy. I paired it with these light blue jeans and tan booties. It was very comfy and chic.

ACF7B393-B7FA-4A0C-A078-FFEDA109380F

Staying with the casual look, Outfit #2 is a causal with a little bit of a more feminine and girly twist to it. The blush pink sweater is from H&M and the Black embroidered pants are from Old Navy, these pants alone adds a cute and girly touch. I finished this look with these black block heels from Target.

Outfit #3 and Outfit #4 are more of a Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl inspired look. These looks are really girly and pretty. I paired the same blush pink sweater from H&M with a black skater skirt I got from amazon, I have a real obsession with these types of skirts. I paired these outfits with the black block heels from the previous picture. Both of these outfits are cute, but being in Japan, it is a bit cold, so if you are in a cold area I would put some black tights or over the knee boots to keep warm. These two outfits have to be my favorites of them all.

Outfit #4 is a blush skater shirt from amazon and a black dress shirt from Target.

I also came up with a Valentines Day inspired makeup look, which I’m obsessed with. I went with a very girly and pink look because pink is my favorite color. I used two eyeshadow pallets the Naked 3 and the Huda Beauty Mauve Obsession Pallet, both can be found in Sephora. I used the Nars bronzer and blush duo compact and for lips I used a lip liner from NYX in the color sand pink with the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss in the color beige sunrise. I kept it very simple.
