The Layover From Hell!

Hi there, beautiful people! I hope you all are doing amazing today. Tomorrow is technically my Monday and I’m kind of not looking forward to it, it was so hard to get out of bed this morning. Since, I have showed you all the fun stuff and the goodies I got back home I thought it was time to tell you the struggles I had to go through to get there. So, besides me not wanting to be an adult anymore, I’m coming at y’all with a little story of my crazy experience during my travels back to the states. It sure is an interesting experience and about the most annoying thing I had to go through, it doesn’t help that I did it alone with a two year old.

Let’s start off with the start of my travels, which almost didn’t happen. When I got to the airport and was checking in to board, I didn’t know I had to have my husbands orders. Long story short we had to scramble and figure out how we can get these papers in a hurry. Thank goodness my hubby had his orders in his email and was able to send it to me. The Japanese were so nice and understanding, they even let me skip the line and go right through once we got checked in and they were even apologizing to me for the inconvenience, it just left me so shocked. They are absolutely beautiful people. This situation was just a little hiccup compared to what is next.

My first layover was in China, when we got off the plane onto the flight line, I had to haul a toddler and a carry on across the flight line to take a shuttle to the actual airport, mind you it is hot as all hell and the shuttle had no air conditioning! I was literally melting and Jason wasn’t doing much, because he was being hauled around like a prince but, he was even sweating. Once, we finally got to the airport we had to stand in the longest line I have ever been in to get our visas! Yes, we needed a visa to be in China for like hours. The most annoying thing ever. It about took the entire layover time to get through the visa line, customs, and to get to the other side of this ginormous airport. It felt like it was taking forever. Oh, did I forget to say that while I walked a thousand miles to get to the other side there was no air conditioning! When we got to the terminal there were these cute little Chinese shops and we had like an hour or so to pass so, we went to get snacks and drinks and there was a really cute jade bracelet I wanted to buy but, really debated on spending $150 on it. We finally got on the plane and it was a 13 hour flight from China to Chicago.

When we got to Chicago I thought it would be smooth sailing, I was so wrong! Again, I had to haul a toddler and a carry on a thousand miles to get the other side of this huge airport and we still had to take a train to get to our terminal. Thankfully, this airport had air conditioning. Good thing we had a little bit more time at this layover to change into different clothes and get some Starbucks. Only 3 more hours until we get to Florida from Chicago, we so close and yet, so far. Was it worth it, you may ask? Absolutely! I had the best time with family and I know for sure my squishy bear had a blast as well. Will I do it again? Haha, NO! I will not be going back until our time here in Japan is up and I have my husband to share the responsibility of hauling our child.

On our way back to Japan it wasn’t as bad. We didn’t have to walk all over creation. Although, will still had to take a shuttle in China with no air, I decided to treat myself for all that trouble. I collect Starbucks ” You Are Here” collection and I took the chance to buy a China mug and I was able to buy the jade bracelet, a ring, and a tiny elephant. They are absolutely beautiful. I figured I will never be back here so, why not.

It was truly a crazy and struggling experience. I hope y’all enjoyed this post!

Mini Family Vacation.

Hello Beautifuls! How is y’alls summer going so far? Mine as been filled with family love, laughter, shopping, a lot of shopping, and creating great memories. I’ve been in Florida for about two months, I’ll be heading back to Japan Sunday morning. I can’t believe how fast these months have gone by. It’s going to be so sad to say goodbye to my family again for another year and a half. I will miss them very much and I’m sure they are going to miss us, especially Jason. But, we will be back before you know it.

Since, being back in the states I’ve gone to target so many times I have lost count. I’ve been deprived so, I needed my fix, don’t judge. We’ve done a lot of shopping, I think I’m set for a while and so is Jason. I’ll do a separate post on our big shopping hauls. We’ve gone on little vacations such as, going to North Carolina to see the in laws and going on a spontaneous two day beach trip. I was able to find us the cutest resort right on the beach with like a few hours notice, not days, hours! It turned out to be an amazing trip. I couldn’t ask for any better in laws. We’ve just came back from Orlando, it was Jason’s first time at SeaWorld. He loved all the shows, music, and little water parks. He sure came home pooped. I got the chance to really bond with my not so little brothers, we got on all the rides and just had a lot of fun. So much fun that I now have no voice. Since we couldn’t make it to Disney World and I had to get my Disney fix, we headed down to Disney Springs. I was so happy, I was like a little kid in a candy shop. It was magical. On top of these little trips, I’ve been enjoying the Florida sun, I finally have a tan! Jason has enjoyed both of his grandparents pools, he’s like a little fish. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. I’m so grateful for my amazing husband for making all this possible.
