100 Yen Store Haul & DIY’s

Hey there beautiful people! Today, I’m coming at y’all with a little haul and two diy’s from my favorite stores here in Japan. Daiso and Seria are the stores that have been taking all my coins, literally, since the 100 yen is a coin. I’m beyond obsessed with these places and I don’t know what I’m going to do when we go back stateside. The dollar store back home has nothing on these places. They have great items for diys, the cutest stationary, and not to mention the cutest Disney stuff, and it’s all for 100 yen (1.00 usd). These two places have come in clutch since I’ve been redoing my beauty room. I’ll do a post of my room once it is done.

My last trips I picked up some items for some diys and some random items, since I can’t control myself in those stores, the only downside is they only take yen, which I guess is a good thing because I would be in the hole. So, let’s get into this little haul. All these goodies cost me 2000 yen ($20.00), I mean come on this is a steal! Where else can you find a glass screen protector for $2.00? These were the only things that cost more than $1.00. I’m sure if you drop your phone it will break, but for $2.00 it does the job. On the topic of phones, I picked up this CUTE phone case, for a $1.00! I actually got two for backup. You know what they say, if you like something get multiples for backup. On the stationary side I got some heart paper clips and toy story sticky notes, I’m sure these would be more than $5.00 at Disney or the Disney store, I got them for $2.00. The black hook thing is a handbag holder for the car, it makes it so much easier to reach in to my to get my ID and helps keep my bag from getting dirty. It is something I never thought I needed. The last random item is the handheld fan, this was a crucial item, it is hot ass balls in Japan and I needed to not die of a heat stroke while I was outside. The rest of the items like the marble contact paper, stickers, wooden shelves, paint, and the lace place mat are for diys.

I’m currently obsessed with anything floral, whether it be dresses, floral arrangements and floral decorations. Even though I am obsessed with floral arrangements and decorations, I am not obsessed with spending $50 and up on them. I took it into. I took into my own hands to get what I wanted for way cheaper. You know we got be cute on a budget. The first project I used the little shelves and made a floral arrangement to hang up on my wall. I painted the shelf a blush pink and hot glued the fake flowers onto the shelf. This project cost me a total of $5.00, including the fake flowers. Tell me this isn’t something you can find at Target for $20.00. I absolutely love how it turned out.

The second floral project I made was a take on a pin I saw on Pinterest. This diy cost a little more due to not being able to find a embroidery hoop at the 100 yen store, I had to go to an actual craft store to find. The hoop was $10.00, but I’m sure it can be found on amazon for cheaper, I just didn’t have the patience to wait for it to come. I found the lace mat and flowers at daiso, the total for the project was $12.00. This too was east to accomplish, all I did was unscrew the hoop, lay the mat on top of the smaller hoop and tighten the hoops together. I then cut off the excess fabric around the hoop and finally, I hot glued the flowers onto the fabric and arranged the flowers to my liking. I think this came out amazing and it was super easy to make. What do y’all think?

I hope y’all enjoyed this little haul and these easy diys as much as I did. Thanks for reading.

The Layover From Hell!

Hi there, beautiful people! I hope you all are doing amazing today. Tomorrow is technically my Monday and I’m kind of not looking forward to it, it was so hard to get out of bed this morning. Since, I have showed you all the fun stuff and the goodies I got back home I thought it was time to tell you the struggles I had to go through to get there. So, besides me not wanting to be an adult anymore, I’m coming at y’all with a little story of my crazy experience during my travels back to the states. It sure is an interesting experience and about the most annoying thing I had to go through, it doesn’t help that I did it alone with a two year old.

Let’s start off with the start of my travels, which almost didn’t happen. When I got to the airport and was checking in to board, I didn’t know I had to have my husbands orders. Long story short we had to scramble and figure out how we can get these papers in a hurry. Thank goodness my hubby had his orders in his email and was able to send it to me. The Japanese were so nice and understanding, they even let me skip the line and go right through once we got checked in and they were even apologizing to me for the inconvenience, it just left me so shocked. They are absolutely beautiful people. This situation was just a little hiccup compared to what is next.

My first layover was in China, when we got off the plane onto the flight line, I had to haul a toddler and a carry on across the flight line to take a shuttle to the actual airport, mind you it is hot as all hell and the shuttle had no air conditioning! I was literally melting and Jason wasn’t doing much, because he was being hauled around like a prince but, he was even sweating. Once, we finally got to the airport we had to stand in the longest line I have ever been in to get our visas! Yes, we needed a visa to be in China for like hours. The most annoying thing ever. It about took the entire layover time to get through the visa line, customs, and to get to the other side of this ginormous airport. It felt like it was taking forever. Oh, did I forget to say that while I walked a thousand miles to get to the other side there was no air conditioning! When we got to the terminal there were these cute little Chinese shops and we had like an hour or so to pass so, we went to get snacks and drinks and there was a really cute jade bracelet I wanted to buy but, really debated on spending $150 on it. We finally got on the plane and it was a 13 hour flight from China to Chicago.

When we got to Chicago I thought it would be smooth sailing, I was so wrong! Again, I had to haul a toddler and a carry on a thousand miles to get the other side of this huge airport and we still had to take a train to get to our terminal. Thankfully, this airport had air conditioning. Good thing we had a little bit more time at this layover to change into different clothes and get some Starbucks. Only 3 more hours until we get to Florida from Chicago, we so close and yet, so far. Was it worth it, you may ask? Absolutely! I had the best time with family and I know for sure my squishy bear had a blast as well. Will I do it again? Haha, NO! I will not be going back until our time here in Japan is up and I have my husband to share the responsibility of hauling our child.

On our way back to Japan it wasn’t as bad. We didn’t have to walk all over creation. Although, will still had to take a shuttle in China with no air, I decided to treat myself for all that trouble. I collect Starbucks ” You Are Here” collection and I took the chance to buy a China mug and I was able to buy the jade bracelet, a ring, and a tiny elephant. They are absolutely beautiful. I figured I will never be back here so, why not.

It was truly a crazy and struggling experience. I hope y’all enjoyed this post!

Mommy and Me, Motherhood, Mothers Day, My Toddler

Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day beautiful! I hope you all have an amazing day and are spoiled on this special day. May you get beautiful flowers, an extra 30 minutes of sleep, or maybe not changing some diapers for one day. I don’t know about you but, not changing a few diapers is a great gift to me. As, my Mother’s Day comes to end here in Japan, most of you mommy’s are now getting up to breakfast in bed (I’m hoping) or sleeping in. But, I was giving the best Mother’s Day gift ever! No it wasn’t anything materialistic, we didn’t even go out to a nice brunch or dinner. We stayed home, I got to sleep in a bit, got my house cleaned (to my standards), got a break from wrestling a toddler in order to change a diaper, I got a back massage without complaining and whining, and finally got to eat some yummy food from the comfort of my own home in my sweats. It was a great Mother’s Day for this mommy. I am truly blessed to have such a great husband and such sweet babies. My baby boy makes me feel like the luckiest mommy in the world, if I knew I was going to get lucky with such a great baby the second time I would get on it in a heartbeat, but for now I’m happy with my sweet squishy bear and fur baby. Jason seriously makes being a mommy a piece of cake, with the occasional meltdown but, hey he’s a toddler. He is the most amazing little human ever, we had a bit of struggle the first few weeks after we was born, but after that he was smooth sailing. He is such a great sleeper since he was an infant, he didn’t turn into a little butthole when he was teething. I thought for sure he was going to struggle when transitioning from sleeping with me to his crib at nine months, but no, he was a pro, since the first night we put him in his crib he has not want to sleep with us. Which makes me a little sad, cause I just want to cuddle him at night, he’s just Mr. Independent now. Then, came taking away the binky and bottle and transition to a sippy cup a little after he turned one. I thought for sure that was going to be tough, and yet again he was unphased. We really got lucky with this little guy and not to mention with our fluffikins Lucas. He’s the best dog we could have ever asked for. Like I said he makes being a mommy a piece of cake. I’m truly blessed to be a mom and a fur mom.

Favorites, Giveaway, Makeup

February Favorite & Giveaway.

Hey there gorgeous! Can y’all believe we are a week away to the end of this short month. So, today I will be talking my new monthly favorites, along with a GIVEAWAY! I’m so excited to be doing my first giveaway on my blog. Shopping is my favorite thing to do, so doing a giveaway gives me a reason to do so. Lol. SHH, don’t tell my hubby. Well, we are going to start of my favorites with something I got last weekend and has made my life so much easier and has prevented me from always loosing my keys. I am talking about my handy-dandy Louis Vuitton 4 Key Holder, this is seriously a game changer.

My following favorite are two pieces of jewelry I bought at this cute Japanese boutique. These pieces are very dainty and beautiful. They are rose gold, my favorite metal. I can wear the most simplest outfit and it can be pulled together with these pieces. The necklace has a small pearl with a tiny diamond, super pretty. The earrings are everything, the pearl goes under the ear and it is held by the tiny diamond, they absolutely gorgeous.

Now, onto my beauty favorites. I have not changed much in my makeup routine, so I do not have many beauty products this month. So, it has been really cold in Japan and I’ve had a cold, so needless to say my lips and hands have been through some rough times. I love a liquid lip, but they are really drying. These two sets from the body shop, have helped my poor chapped lips and dry hands. I mean they have been on the struggle bus. Not only do they work great but they smell amazing! I got one in mango and strawberry,  The NYX soft matte lip creams have been my holy grail this month, it still gives a matte lip without being too drying and being uncomfortable on the lips. Not to mention how affordable they are. These two lippies in Abu Dhabi and Cannes have been my most used.

I have been wanting to find a new scent, my ride or die perfume is Chanel Chance EAU VIVE. I love it, but I’ve been wanting to grow my perfume collection. So, I bought the YSL Black Opium in a travel size. I didn’t want to buy a full bottle, it’s not the same when you spritz a little in the store. I wanted to try it out and wore it through out the day. I am in LOVE with this scent, it smells sweet, but a little goes a long way. If you’re into sweet-smelling perfumes, this one is a hit in my book. DSC03518

These last two items are my favorite things to buy, which are tumblers and stationary. I can’t have enough mugs, water bottles, and tumblers. It’s an addiction. Who else has the same addiction? I can’t be the only one. This Kate Spade tumbler is so cute and girly. It makes drinking water a lot easier, but its most likely sweet tea in it. Lol. My other addiction is stationary and being in the country that is all about stationary, makes it a lot harder to stop. My favorite season is coming up, which is cherry blossom season. So, I had to buy this cute cherry blossom notepad. Its pink and pretty, it can’t get better than that.

Girly Day With Tay.

Hello Beautifuls! Today was a very much-needed girls day. It has been quite a while since I’ve gone out and did a little shopping without a toddler running around or a nagging husband telling me “hurry up”, “why are you taking so long?”. Today we shopped in peace, it was so nice. We stopped for some coffee at Starbucks, did a little shopping at H&M, went to Louis Vuitton for a little treat for the eyes and to reserve a little something I’ve been eyeing for a while, stopped at a little Luxury thrift store, and finished with some lunch. Even though we went to a lot of places, our mission today was Starbucks. Why, you may ask? Because here in Japan, Sakura season is about to start, which is the cherry blossom season. (this honestly is my favorite season).

Starbucks in Japan came out with a Sakura season collection, about the most beautiful collection ever. I don’t know about y’all ,but I love mugs and tumblers, so I had to get my hands on this pretty collection. I mean look how gorgeous and pink everything is. This is totally my type of esthetic.

The next stop was H&M. I just got a couple of things, it’s not like I can fit in a lot of their clothes. H&M already has sizing problems and being in Japan makes it even worse. But, I can still find some cute stuff that I can fit in. The struggle is real! Today, you will see a lot of pink. At H&M I got two shirts, a cardigan, and the cutest beret. Yes, they are in different shades of pink, I did say at the beginning of this year I wanted to add more pink in my wardrobe. The shirt is so comfy, it is supposed to be a shirt dress but my butt and hips do not allow it to be a dress shirt, so I’ll be wearing it with some leggings. The second shirt is flowy and gives me spring vibes, the sleeves are bell sleeves, which adds a little girly and dressy look to it. The cardigan can be used with anything and knowing me it’ll be worn a lot. It is very thin, so it can be worn during the spring without having a heat stroke. Lastly, the blush pink beret, this was something that I was uncertain on buying, but surprisingly was very cute on me.

The last stop was the luxury thrift store. Japan has the best thrift stores ever, especially when it come to finding luxury items. My friend Taylor is the one that opened my eyes to thrifting. I honestly never even stepped foot in a thrift store until I went with Taylor. I know that sounds snobby, but it just wasn’t my thing. Anyways, at this thrift store I got a Louis Vuitton 4 Key holder. I have been wanting this for while, but I always debated on whether I wanted to pay $200 for something my keys were going to scratch and be tossed around. But, I found one that is in great condition for $70! I mean that is a good amount of money being saved that can go towards something else. I was so happy I was able to find this. I know I will not be loosing my keys any more.

Mommy and Me, Motherhood, My Toddler, School, student life

We Survived Our First Week.

AE37358D-8014-485E-B64F-065CC7E1BF96Hello Beautifuls! Today is a little update from my last post about starting school, a new job, and Jason going to daycare for the first time. Well, we survived it. I am still a student, I didn’t drop out. HAHA. I have been really good about not procrastinating and waiting until last-minute. But, it’s only been a week. This week hasn’t been a walk in the park either. Since starting school, a new job, and Jason going to daycare, I’ve started to wake up early to wake up early. Like, 6am early! I haven’t woken up this early since high school, so its been tough.

This whole week I’ve been waking up early to work out ( I’ll do a post about my workout routine in the future.) I’m able to clean up the house a bit and have a little time to work on school work before my squishy bear wakes up. But, Oh My Gosh! Those were some tough days. I usually never take a nap, but my eyes were barely staying opened. I eventually got use to it. Waking up early is a great thing. Friday was definitely a crazy day. I was running errands before dropping Jason off at daycare and going into works. And all the momma’s know how hard it is to run errands with a toddler. It makes it double the work, getting a toddler in and out of the car is a sport itself. By 10 am I have so much, I was in dire need of Starbucks. Thank God it was Friday!

My new job is awesome, I love it. It feels so good to be working again. I’m so blessed to always have great co-workers and managers. At every job I’ve had, the managers and co-workers are amazing and friendly. Not many people can say that. I honestly have never had a problem at any of my jobs. I’m so happy to be working with such amazing people and organization.

Jason is loving daycareso far. The first day was the hardest for me. Literally, not even 2.5 seconds went by that I dropped him off and I busted out into tears. I started questioning my parenting, “Was I a bad mom for leaving my baby?”, “Will he be okay?” I was a mess. But, he had a great time. The ladies there love him and say he’s a good boy, which makes me really happy and gives me peace of mind.

Food, Juice Bar, Memories

Best Juice Bar, Ever!

Let me tell you about the best juice bar I have ever been to. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it is time to go back to the states. It’s so delicious, no other juice bar in the states can compare. I have yet to find another juice bar as good out here in Japan. The first time I went was with my friend that introduced me to this beautiful place. I was hooked. Jason loves this place too. Today, I took my husband for the first time. He was pretty impressed, he was surprised that the actual drink looks like the picture on the menu. This place makes all the smoothies with fresh fruit, on top of being made fresh, they also put whip cream with fresh fruit on top with powdered sugar. SO GOOD! I would’ve never thought to put powdered sugar on fruit, but it’s yummy. The other times I have been to this place, I get a green grape smoothie. This drink is a mixture of sour and sweet. Like, it’ll get you in the back of the throat when you take that first sip. Today, I got a purple grape drink and the hubby got a strawberry drink. The purple grape smoothie was sweet, unlike the green grape one. Both are delicious. The shop itself, is small, like many places in Japan. It is so cute and chic. They are really Instagram ready. They seriously have cute props to make your smoothie look cute for an Instagram picture. I wish everyone could taste these delicious treats. I mean look how amazing these drinks look. What are y’alls  favorite juice bars?
