We Survived Our First Week.

AE37358D-8014-485E-B64F-065CC7E1BF96Hello Beautifuls! Today is a little update from my last post about starting school, a new job, and Jason going to daycare for the first time. Well, we survived it. I am still a student, I didn’t drop out. HAHA. I have been really good about not procrastinating and waiting until last-minute. But, it’s only been a week. This week hasn’t been a walk in the park either. Since starting school, a new job, and Jason going to daycare, I’ve started to wake up early to wake up early. Like, 6am early! I haven’t woken up this early since high school, so its been tough.

This whole week I’ve been waking up early to work out ( I’ll do a post about my workout routine in the future.) I’m able to clean up the house a bit and have a little time to work on school work before my squishy bear wakes up. But, Oh My Gosh! Those were some tough days. I usually never take a nap, but my eyes were barely staying opened. I eventually got use to it. Waking up early is a great thing. Friday was definitely a crazy day. I was running errands before dropping Jason off at daycare and going into works. And all the momma’s know how hard it is to run errands with a toddler. It makes it double the work, getting a toddler in and out of the car is a sport itself. By 10 am I have so much, I was in dire need of Starbucks. Thank God it was Friday!

My new job is awesome, I love it. It feels so good to be working again. I’m so blessed to always have great co-workers and managers. At every job I’ve had, the managers and co-workers are amazing and friendly. Not many people can say that. I honestly have never had a problem at any of my jobs. I’m so happy to be working with such amazing people and organization.

Jason is loving daycareso far. The first day was the hardest for me. Literally, not even 2.5 seconds went by that I dropped him off and I busted out into tears. I started questioning my parenting, “Was I a bad mom for leaving my baby?”, “Will he be okay?” I was a mess. But, he had a great time. The ladies there love him and say he’s a good boy, which makes me really happy and gives me peace of mind.

January Favorites.

Hello beautifuls! As the first month of the new year comes to an end I want to talk about my January favorites, from books to makeup. Most of these products I have had for a couples months, but I have fallen in love with these products in the month of January.

First, I’m going to mention my favorite book of the moment. This book brings me back to middle school/ high school days. I would read these books all the time. I was at the MCX (store on base) and I found this book and I had to buy it. The stories are full of love and lessons, they are so beautiful. They had different ones, but I chose this one because I am so grateful for my mommy and being so far from her makes miss her so much. I am no longer a two-hour airplane ride from her. I read this after I’m done with my daily devotional and praying. Favorite book this month for sure.

Having so much do this upcoming month, my Lilly Pulitzer agenda has been my best friend. Every line is filled. I have a horrible memory and forget things in 2.5 seconds, so writing things done really help me. With school and a new job, I need to write down my due dates for assignments and write the days and hours I work. I also find it super relaxing to decorate and plan my days. I’m obsessed with stationary, whether it post its, thank you cards, stickers, stamps, you name it and I can’t get enough of it. Here in Japan, stationary and planner decorating is a big thing. Every time I go to Daiso or Seria ( I have a post about these stores, Shopping in Japan.) I always end up leaving with cute stationary. I have about a thousands post its and notebooks. My washi tape collections is growing for sure, I mean who can pass up cute stationary for a $1! I love how small it is and I’m to take it with me, which I do.

Now on to the one piece of jewelry I wear all the time. It does not matter if I’m wearing gold or not. I am seriously obsessed with my Tiffany & Co. necklace I got for Christmas. It one piece that I never leave the house with out, besides my engagement ring.

For makeup there hasn’t been much of a change since the my favorite beauty products. The only thing that has changed is my go-to bronzer and blush and primer. But, I also still included the products I always use and are my ride or die products. I’ve had the NARS bronzer and blush for a while, but it wasn’t until recently that I have fallen in love with it. The bronzer makes your skin glow and the blush is kind of sheen, shimmer blush, which is my favorite kind of blush. It also saves me time, its two in one. The new primer is Smashbox Primerizer, holy primer! This thing is magic, it makes my face hydrated and flawless. It does an amazing job filling in your pores and giving the face an airbrushed look. Absolute fav!

In 2017, I was starting to get into skin care. I got the Clarisonic Mia in December, and it totally changed the game on how I was my face. While it exfoliates and cleans your skin, it gives you a nice massage on your face. It helps get off every drop of make up that is on my face. The exfoliate I like to use is the Micro-delivery Exfoliating Wash, it is gentle enough to use twice a day. I use in the morning when I wake up and at night before going to sleep. After, I wash my face in the morning I have been using the origins Eye brightening cream. I have really bad dark circles and this has helped a lot in month I have been using it. I also, moisterize with the TATCHA water cream. It is so hydrating and makes my face feel like a baby’s bottom. It is worth every penny, for sure.

Last, but not least, my favorite perfume. Just like skin care I didn’t start getting into perfumes until 2017. I would only use body spray and lotion. But, this is a new love. I have three other perfumes, but the one I reach to more often is my Chanel Chance. It smells so amazing. It has a very girly and sweet scent to it. It is my absolute favorite. DSC03099

I hope you all enjoyed my January Favorites, Let me know if any of these products are your favorite too. Also, let me know what your favorites are.

Let The Procrastination Begin.

This is the last weekend I have stress free, because starting Monday I start my online classes. On top of starting classes this week, I also start a part-time job. That being said, this also means my little baby boy, whom I’ve been attached too since he was growing in my belly is going to daycare. So, my stress levels are going to be in high gear this week. I was not necessarily looking for a job out here in Japan, but I did want to start volunteering and giving back to my community. I gratefully stumbled upon this opportunity to volunteer and get back into the work place. Let me give y’all a little background to this place. I will be working at the thrift store on base, this is an non-profit organization. I have never been a thrifting gal, I know I sound snobby, but it is what it is. I am very fortunate to be able to work at this place. They are more than a thrift store, they do toy drives for the orphanages in Japan, they provide funding for the summer programs at the church on base, which is known as VBS. They do all kinds of events in order to be able to provide for these places. They are solely funded by the donations given to them. I am extremely excited to start working and volunteering at all these amazing events.

Now, on to the start of procrastination. I will be taking online classes for the second time this semester and I am having mixed feelings. Last semester, I had a breakdown a week into the semester. I’m hoping I don’t let my procrastination get the best of me this semester, but I’m sure I will a little bit. I am going to try my hardest to get as organized as possible so I don’t go crazy with being a mom, wife, student, and an employee. Doing online classes has its pros and cons. some of the pros are I am able to do my school work on my on time and the semester is only eight weeks long. The cons are since I can work on my own time, I tend to procrastinate and leave everything last-minute leading up to my mental breakdown. Another con is, I have always been a person that likes to be in a classroom, being able to ask questions and get help right there and then. Doing online classes as a couple of bumps when it comes to communicating, it also doesn’t help that I’m on a time difference and my morning is my professors night. But, I gotta work with what I got and count my blessings that I am able to go to school, not many girls in other countries can say this. Do you go on campus or online? Which one do you prefer? Do you procrastinate?

Finally, we get to the most difficult decision I have ever had to make, putting my squishy bear in daycare. I have been going back and forth with this decision for a long time. I’m so used to being with him everyday, all day. I’m so nervous but excited at the same time. This is a great way for Jason to play with kids his own age and hopefully learn a little Japanese while he is there. Also, I get to have a little adult time and have a conversation with some who can actually talk back to me with actual words. I’m pretty excited. I can’t imagine being with out my little boy for more than an hour. I know for a fact that I’m going to be a mess when I drop him off for the first time. I’m not even going to bother to do my makeup, because I know I will be bawling in the parking lot. I just hope he starts playing and doesn’t lose it when I’m trying to leave.

I will do an update about my week and how everything went at work, and how I handled Jason’s first day in daycare. And hopefully I won’t be a college dropout. HAHA.

Best Juice Bar, Ever!

Let me tell you about the best juice bar I have ever been to. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it is time to go back to the states. It’s so delicious, no other juice bar in the states can compare. I have yet to find another juice bar as good out here in Japan. The first time I went was with my friend that introduced me to this beautiful place. I was hooked. Jason loves this place too. Today, I took my husband for the first time. He was pretty impressed, he was surprised that the actual drink looks like the picture on the menu. This place makes all the smoothies with fresh fruit, on top of being made fresh, they also put whip cream with fresh fruit on top with powdered sugar. SO GOOD! I would’ve never thought to put powdered sugar on fruit, but it’s yummy. The other times I have been to this place, I get a green grape smoothie. This drink is a mixture of sour and sweet. Like, it’ll get you in the back of the throat when you take that first sip. Today, I got a purple grape drink and the hubby got a strawberry drink. The purple grape smoothie was sweet, unlike the green grape one. Both are delicious. The shop itself, is small, like many places in Japan. It is so cute and chic. They are really Instagram ready. They seriously have cute props to make your smoothie look cute for an Instagram picture. I wish everyone could taste these delicious treats. I mean look how amazing these drinks look. What are y’alls  favorite juice bars?

This was back in October. How cute are the props?

But First, Makeup.

Hello Beautifuls! How many girls go into Sephora or Ulta and feel like they have died and gone to heaven? I’m sure it’s not only me. Now, I’m no beauty guru or have near as much makeup as they do, but I guess I have a pretty good amount of makeup. Makeup makes me feel confident and like I can take on the world. I still feel beautiful without makeup, but it gives me a little confident boost. I did not start getting into makeup until I was about 18 years old. I use to be more of a powder, eyeliner, and mascara kinda girl. Now I have to beat the face and slay. I don’t do my makeup very often, you know being a mother of a toddler and all. I usually do my makeup while he takes his afternoon nap. But, sometimes I’m so tired and have so much to do and I don’t have time to do a full face so I usually put concealer, powder, mascara, and eyeliner and call it a day. Down below I am going to talk about my favorite go-to products I use when I do a full face, from primer to setting spray.

This is by far my favorite primer at the moment. It makes my makeup look so smooth and flawless. This is the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer. You can find it in Sephora for $44.00.

I have to foundations I use, but this is the one I reach for the most. It’s kind of annoying because it doesn’t have a pump, it has a dropper. Besides this little inconvenience its a great foundation, it wears beautifully without getting very cakey on the face. I either use my beauty blender or the tarte brush seen in this picture. It’s the Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. it can also be found at Sephora for $44.00.

As you can see I am scraping the edges of this concealer. I don’t know what tarte created and did but, this is the amazing. It is so full coverage and so blendable, it is just simply amazing. Like I said before, sometimes I do not have the time to sit there and blend my foundation and do all this extra stuff. So, I just grab this tarte shapetape concealer and put a few dot under my eyes to  cover my black circle put some powder foundation and I am good to go. It is exclusively at Ulta and believe the tarte website for $27.00 , but if you need to know your shade you can go check them out at Ulta.

This right here is my holy grail for setting powders. It has got to be the most amazing powder ever! I set my whole face with this an a little goes a long way. Some setting powders leave a white cast and if taking a picture with flash it sure will have a flashback, but not this. I absolutely love this. It is a but pricey, compared to other setting powders, but to me this is worth every penny. This is the Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder, it is available at Sephora for $55.00. (I got this when they have the VIB rouge sale going on.)

These are my go-to blush and bronzer. The Becca Blush pallet has three beautiful blushes, this can’t be purchased it was a holiday collection from last year. But the bronzer is available at Ulta for $28.00. I love how bronzy it make my skin look. It brings a lot of product, I use this every time I do my makeup and I still have not hit pan. These two product sure bring my face back to life after foundations and powder.

Now we are getting into highlight. By far my favorite part of my makeup routine. This is a must. I can’t walk out the house without glowing to Jesus. I have many highlighter but this pallet right here, IS EVERYTHING! I was in Japan when this came out and I had my beautiful madre go get me this. She grabbed the last one in that store. This is a limited edition ABH Nicole Guerriero highlight pallet, so it was a big deal that I got it. There are 6 blinding highlighters. I mean this has me shinning like a diamond every time. I do not know what I am going to do once I hit pan.

These three are my go to eyeshadow pallets. I can created any eye look with these three. All three are super pigmented and blendable. The Lorac pallet was a holiday collection, but Lorac always comes out with a pro pallet during the holidays. The other two are at Sephora the ABH Modern Renaissance pallet is $42.00 and the small Huda Beauty pallet is $27.00. It is very compact and easy to travel with. I love burgundy and pinks, both the ABH and Huda pallet give me those colors. I use to always go for a brown and gold eye look, but I wet out of my comfort zone and I have never looked back.

Finally we get to mascara, eyeliner, and lips. My favorite mascara use to be Too Faced better than sex, but it always start to crumble and flake on my face. Then I found tarte light, camera, lashes, found at Sephora for $23.00. If you aren’t blessed like me and don’t have long, full lashes, this makes them look like they are. It is amazing. My favorite eyeliner is the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel eye Crayon Eyeliner at Sephora for $25.00. It is super black, I like to put it in my lower waterline to give a intense dark look. And my go-to lip has been just a lip liner from NYX and the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss at Sephora for $34.00. It make my lips look glossy and full.
