New Years Goals!

Hello Beautifuls! Happy New Year’s to all of you beauties. I hope you all had an amazing time ringing in the New Year with family and friends. We kept it really simple at the Boucha home, we went out to dinner and were home by 9pm, it was a wild night. I was able to call my mom from the future, which was pretty funny and so weird that I was already in the year 2019 and my parents where waking up on New Years Eve. Since, we were so “wild” we went on a little adventure and took Jason ice skating for the first time. It was about the cutest thing I have ever seen. Before, getting on the ice he spotted a little train and it was the first thing he wanted to ride. He has a little obsession with trains or as he calls them “choochoo”, he had his money ready for his train fare and everything. Jason didn’t do much skating due to him going all limp noodle when he was put on the ice so, daddy did much of the skating and pushing him around. I stood on the sidelines and took as many pictures and videos as I could and I didn’t trust myself on the ice with my squishy or trust my husband to get good pictures. Needless to say, we all had a great time and made some awesome memories with my little family. Look how cute my little squishy looked all geared up for the ice.

Now, onto a little rewind of my goals last year and my new goals for this year. In the year 2018, I felt like I accomplished a lot of the goals I set for myself. Last year, I wanted to revamp my wardrobe and I actually did it. Living in Japan, most of the women are so well put together so, I felt inspired to step up my game. I also set a goal for my education, and I’m getting closer to finishing my certification course. Last year, I put up some items I wanted to get and I am so grateful that I achieved getting all of the items I wanted. One of the biggest goal I had last year was going home and seeing my family. Although, I accomplished some of my goals 2018 through in some surprises my way but, who doesn’t like surprises.

My 2019 goals have little less materialistic and more travel and working on myself. This year my main goal is going to Tokyo Disneyland, even if all my other goals don’t happen, going to Tokyo Disneyland will make 2019 an amazing year. Along, with going to Disneyland, I would like to travel to different places in Japan. One of the places that we are for sure going to this year is Okinawa, to see the beautiful beaches and spend time with our friends. In 2019, I would like to lose a few pounds, I’m not trying to be a Victoria Secret model or anything, I would just like to go back to pre baby weight. I want to work on reading more books and watching less Netflix, I want to be the example for my son and at the age he is at right now he copies everything mommy and daddy does. I’m hoping I will be able to potty train my toddler this year, so this can go one or two ways I either go crazy by the end or I’m one happy mama and I have a potty trained toddler. Sooooo, wish me luck! Finally, I would LOVE to reach 100 followers or more here on my blog by the end of the year.

What We Got For Christmas.

img_4217

Hello Beautifuls! I hope you all had a great Christmas with friends and family. We had a great Christmas Eve with our friends. This is our second Christmas in Japan, for some reason this year it hit me super hard that I was not with my family. To be honest, im still a little down, but I have to push through and just think that we just have a year and a few months left. Thank God I had amazing friends that came over to celebrate this holiday with. My friend I call my nugget bestie and her husband came over and we had a great time. This was our first time ever doing a Christmas dinner, I think for it being our first time cooking a big meal, we kinda nailed it.

So, let me start of by saying I’m not a cook or baker by any means. Now, y’all may think mashed potatoes aren’t that hard to make but, for someone that has never done homemade anything, it was a big deal for me and may I add they came out super yummy. The other thing I made were Texas sheet cake cookies, I got the recipe from Pinterest! The fact that it didn’t turn into a Pinterest fail is huge and they came out super yummy. Another, Pinterest recipe I saw and managed to not mess it up was making a crockpot creamy hot cocoa, best hot cocoa I have ever tasted. It was a proud moment for me and it gave me a little bit of confidence in the kitchen. My husband also threw it down in the kitchen he made a delicious prime rib roast, a cheese cornbread casserole, and some peanut butter balls. Overall, it was a great time and very blessed to have been able to celebrate this holiday with my little family and friends.

Now, onto what we got for Christmas, we will start with the person that got all of the gifts under my tiny tree, my squishy face.  He sure got spoiled by my parents this year, they got him a power wheel Silverado, shoes, clothes, and some learning toys. Santa brought him cars, Lighting McQueen stuff, more clothes, and t-ball gear. We tried to not get him useless toys they we will be stumbling on in two days. My aunt also sent him some more clothes, so you can say he is somewhat set on the clothes. Our fur baby got the biggest bone ever and he sure is enjoying it.

This Christmas I didn’t get much, like I mentioned before we are saving up to go to Okinawa to visit our friends. From my hubby I got grey UGGS, from my amazing parents and brothers I got money I’m still debating on what to get, my in laws and Brent’s grandmothers also sent Jason some cash. My friends really out did themselves this year, like omg! My boo boo kitty, send me a Kate Spade tumblr and the cutest necklace ever, it made me cry. My other bestie sent me a gorgeous rose gold Minnie necklace, absolutely gorgeous. My nugget bestie got me cute and dainty Japanese earrings and necklace. My friend and old boss got me the new Gabrielle Chanel perfume, she is the bomb. Finally, my friend Taylor got a cricut and made a cute mason jar with my name. I’m a sucker for mason jars. I treated myself to a cute mug that gives me Henri Bendel vibes and a sparkly Starbucks tumblr. I mean how amazing are my friends, I am beyond blessed to have them in my life. Love you guys soooo much!

Let The Loosing The Scissors & Tape Begin.

Hello beautifuls! Can y’all believe we are 11 days away from Christmas! I’m filled with excitement to see my sweet squishy open is presents this year. I didn’t go all out this year on the gifts like I did last year, the hubby and I agreed on going on a small vacation instead. So, our Christmas present is going to visit our close friends in Okinawa, Japan (it’s the Hawaii of Japan, haha). We are soo excited to see beautiful beaches and see our amazing friends in the spring. Even though, we didn’t go all out on gifts doesn’t mean theres nothing under our tiny tree. My parents obviously went all out this year and I can’t wait for him to open up his gifts. This year I didn’t just want to get him meaningless toys that I will be stepping on in the middle of the night. The hubby and I opened our Christmas gift a little early and have been using them ever since. So, my only focus was my squishy.

If y’all have a toddler and don’t know what to get them here are somethings I think are fun and easy way for them to learn and have fun.

1. Vtech activities table.

This turns into an easel for painting and has storage for more activities pads. Target is having a promotion on toys so, it’s the perfect time to grab this and some activities pages.

2. Activity pages.

The table includes some pages already, but they have more pages like animals, numbers, and so much more. These are also included in the promotion target is having on toys.

3. T-ball Bat and glove.

Jason will be 3 next June so, we will be putting him in t-ball. I couldn’t be more excited and my brothers are over the moon. Baseball is about the only sport that stuck. Since, we are planning on putting him in baseball, I though it was never too soon to get him a little bat and a glove. Hopefully he finds it enjoyable and would be interested in the playing with other kids and I would like to teach him the bat is to hit the ball not other kids. Haha.

4. Clothes!

You can never go wrong with clothes. My child is growing like there’s no tomorrow. So, he sure needs some jeans that don’t look like capris. Old Navy is one of my favorite places to shop for his clothes. They always have great sales and the clothes are really cute. My other favorite place is the MCX, the store on base.

5. Socks & Shoes.

Like, I said my child is growing like crazy so, socks and shoes are a great gift. I don’t know about y’all but, in my house it’s like his socks disappear into the air. Plus, it’s like a Christmas tradition to get socks. For his shoes I always buy his shoes a little bit bigger that way he can wear them for a little longer and let me tell you he wears the crap out of his shoes.

This year for Christmas we kind of wanted to pull a Christmas with the Kranks type of Christmas since, we were going away on a vacation. But, I love Christmas way too much to do that so it’s a small Christmas for us this year. Literally, it’s a small one for us. One Jason’s present is bigger than our tree hahaha! You can read all about that in my last post.

So, to all the moms and dads that are wrapping all those presents, good luck and I hope you can keep track of your scissors and tape. Happy wrapping!

Decking The Halls & Filled With Joy of My Blogs Year Anniversary!

Holy Moly! I cannot believe I’ve had my blog for a year now. I’m so grateful for each and everyone of my followers and the amazing people that read my blogs! You guys are amazing. I just go back to the first blog I wrote and how scared I was to start my blog but, here we are a year later. I hope I’ll be doing this for more years to come. I just want to thank you all for the support. Now, let’s get into the holiday spirit and talk Christmas decor.

My house has been decked out for Christmas since the 1st of November, some may say that is way too soon but, I don’t care. I look forward to decorating for Christmas all year sadly, this is the first year that we won’t have a Christmas tree though. You can read all about our Christmas tree fail in a post I wrote last year. Since, then I’ve been a bit hesitant with buying a real tree again and well, living overseas you don’t have a wide range of choices for an artificial tree. We only have the MCX and the choices they have are super expensive and in my opinion, not worth the price. I’ve always had a real tree growing up, I love the smell and how green and full they are. Once, I’m back home I will be splurging on my dream artificial tree or trees… you know maybe one for every room. Haha. Some of the decor I already had from last year and some I found at my local thrift store or got at target. There aren’t a lot of places to shop for decor like back in the states there’s Marshall’s, tjmaxx, and of course target! Not everything they have is online and stuff I would love to buy won’t ship here. So, I had to do work with what I had. I’m loving all the neutral and white decor I’ve been seeing everywhere but, it’s something about the traditional colors like green and red that scream Christmas and I’m not ready to change colors at least, not now maybe when I go back to the states and I have options. For the time being this is how my humble home looks.

The green and red throw pillows I got at one of the Japanese dollar store. For a total of $4 I have cute pillows. These are our stockings from last year and the wreath I made last year as well. My placemats and the runner that’s on my coffee table are from target. The snowman I’ve had for years and the signs are from daiso.

This is probably my fave spot in the living room. This huge snow globe plays music and the bottom turns. I absolutely love it and it’s one Jason’s favorite things to look at. I have a picture of my squishy on his first Christmas, some nutcrackers from hobby lobby, and my recent purchase from target is this mercury glass tree. This little spot is so magical to me and makes me so happy.

The decor in my beauty room is a bit different, I wanted to make it a pink wonderland since, it’s the main color already. I wanted to mix the metals and have a pop of pink. The silver and white wreath and the tall golden tree is from the local thrift store.

The deer, nutcracker, the small rose gold mercury glass tree, and the candle holder in the middle are from target. I diy the white tree with things from the Japanese dollar store and finally a cute picture of my sweet baby boy.

I hope you all enjoyed this little tour of my home in all it’s Christmas glory. Once, again I want to thank each and everyone you for all the support and making this a great year!

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.

It came in flash it seems but, the most wonderful time of the year is here! It’s the first day of December and we already had a day full of winter fun. In the afternoon, since my hubby volunteered to be Santa Claus, I went with some friends to the winter market on base and did a little shopping. The winter market is a place where little home shops can be in one place and sell their products. Yes, you read that right, my husband loves dressing up like Santa Claus and surprisingly he doesn’t scare the kids, they actually like him. Haha. Like, I was saying it was a fun time and Jason got to take a picture with Santa aka daddy. We were scared that he would recognize him and pull down his beard and ruin the illusion for the other kids but, he didn’t. Thank goodness.

Later in the evening, we went to the tree lighting event. There were brownies, hot cocoa, delicious apple cider, yummy food, and Christmas music. This was a great experience and to have been surrounded with friends made it so much more fun. It wasn’t the tree lighting at the Rocker Feller but, it was beautiful nonetheless. We made great memories already and it’s just the first day of December, I can only hope there’s more fun to come.

Favorite Fall Outfits.

Hello beautifuls! Hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. We had a not so traditional Thanksgivings here in Japan. We were feeling a little down this year, it’s not easy being away from family around the holidays and I think this year it really hit us hard. We only have a year and a half left and it can’t come fast enough. So, for our Thanksgiving we went to Hiroshima and did a little shopping and ate out at a restaurant we’ve gone once before. It wasn’t the traditional thing to do, either way we had a good time and all that mattered was that we were together.

Now, that thanksgiving is over, we are fast approaching my favorite holiday of all, Christmas! In my home Christmas arrived the day after Halloween, meaning my decorations have been up since the first of November. There are still some thing I’m waiting for to come in and once they come in I’ll be doing a post on decorating for Christmas. Since, fall is over, well for me any. Haha. I wanted to show y’all some of my favorite fall outfits.

At the beginning of this year one of my goals was to step up my wardrobe and somewhat step out of my comfort zone. So, far I’ve been happy with my wardrobe, I can only hope that it will get better! Let’s get onto the outfits, shall we.

The first outfit is a purple tunic from forever21 with my Lily Pulitzer cardigan paired with basic black leggings and burgundy booties. Simple, yet cute.

Next outfit is one of my more comfortable outfits and a matching one with my squishy face. It was cute and comfy for our trip to the zoo. My rust color jacket is from target and wore some burgundy pants from the MCX and of course, what is comfort without uggs?

The following outfit is probably one of my favorite ones, ever! I have been seeing the animal print trend going around and I was scared on trying it but, I took the jump and went for it. No regrets! I absolutely love this look. All the pieces besides the top are from target, including my heels.

My last look was my thanksgiving outfit. Besides the previous look this one is also one of favs. Again, my coat is from target, the sweater is from a Japanese store called GU, the skirt is from forever21 and my booties from the MCX.

That’s all for my favorite fall looks. See y’all soon on my next blog!

Proud To Be A Military Wife.

IMG_3324

Today’s post is inspired by a video my lovely friend Elizabeth posted on her channel talking about “Why She Loves Being A Military Wife”. I have always felt blessed being a military spouse, some people don’t get what being a military spouse is. While it does have amazing benefits, it also comes with crazy sacrifices. I’ll start with the reasons why I love being a military spouse and then I’ll get into not so loving parts.

Getting into the first reason why I love being a military spouse is the amazing benefits we have like 100% insurance and housing. I was able to give birth to our beautiful baby boy without having to worry about medical bills. Housing is another great benefit, we either have the choice to stay on base rent free or rent a home off base and be given extra money to cover the costs. Since, we’ve been married we’ve lived on base and haven’t had a bad experience since, well, home wise… people that’s a different story. Haha.

In addition, to the previous reasons I love being a military wife because, it lets us travel the world. If you have been following me for a while y’all know that we are stationed in Japan. Never in a million years did I think I would ever get to see Japan let alone live here for three years. Not only do we get to see different parts of world, but the most important reason is I’m blessed enough to be a stay at home mom. I get to see my squishy grow and see him learn new things everyday. It is a great blessing to be able to stay home and not be financially struggling. I get to only focus on school and my home, you know make sure my husband and child are fed and has clean underwear. Lol. With my husband being in the military once he reaches eight years of services, he can transfer something that is called the GI bill, which gives Jason the opportunity to go to college and have it all paid for.

To say the least, being a military wife it has given me the amazing blessing of meeting greats friends who now we basically consider our little military family. Even though we are spread in different places and may not talk to each other everyday we know that we are there for each other whenever it is needed. Making friends in the military is super important because, like I said before some people just don’t understand what we go through, not even family can understand as well as another military spouse will. So, thank you to my little military family for always being there for me.

Now, onto the sacrifices we have to make as part as being a military wife. Some people look at our lives as being luxurious and being lucky that we can stay home without having to worry about bills and such. Let me tell you, it gets on my ever lasting nerve when people compare their lives and tell me I am lucky I don’t have to worry about bills and we get paid so well that I can stay home and not worry about things most civilians have to worry about. Yes, it’s true I don’t have to worry about these things and yes, my husband is able to give me a luxury every once in a while, but it ain’t all rainbows and butterflies I’ll tell you that. I hate the fact that people only see the good things but, never seem to think or see the sacrifices. One of them being, my husband is not always with us, he can be gone for days, weeks, or even months at a time. It is not always for sure he will be home on time to say goodnight to our child. Being in the military us, wives, need to get used to the words “I Don’t Know” nothing is ever for sure in the military. My husband could be called out to war in a second and there’s nothing I can do. The people who think the pay is so great, don’t think about when my husband comes home late he doesn’t get paid overtime. He can be gone from 5am to 10pm, that’s way past an 8 hour day.

Although, we get to live in different parts of the world, it is a struggle to be so far away from family. Only being able to face time, not being able to be with family on the holidays. Many families have to deal with family members being deployed. Heck, I don’t even know if my husband will be here for Christmas. Like I said we have to get used to the words “I Don’t Know”.

Nevertheless, I love being a military wife, it is a great honor to stand next to a man in uniform who is serving our country. This isn’t a life many can handle but, I wouldn’t want it any other way.
